Recovery in as Little as Three Days

Recovery in as little as 3 days

Why is Recovery so Fast?

The Spine and Orthopedic Surgeons at Florida Surgery Consultants always stay up to date on the greatest and latest surgeries that can benefit our patients. This is why most of our surgeries that we do is now considered minimally invasive. A few years ago, open spine surgery was what most spine surgeons needed to do. With advancements in spine surgery technology, all of are surgeries are now minimally invasive.

The big difference in recovery time is the incision is drastically smaller compared to open spine surgery. All of our incisions for all surgeries are less than 1 1/2 inches. This means that all the skin and muscle that the surgeon had to cut through to get to the spine is smaller. Therefore the recovery time is shorter.

When Can Patients Go Back to Work

After surgery there will be several steps that your physician will ask patients to do. It is suggested that patients wait a few days before going back to work. Depending on the surgery, you may be able to go back to work in as little as 3 days. It also depends on the job patients have. If it is a manual labor job, it might not be possible for patients to go back to work. If it is a desk job, patients will be able to go back to work sooner. Consult with your physician to see if you will be eligible to return to work.
