Procedures
Some of the in office procedures he specializes in include:
– Epidural Steroid Injection: this is a common treatment for lower back pains, this procedure involves injecting a local anesthetic into the epidural portion of your spine and the surrounding nerves. This is meant to improve mobility and reduce pains by numbing the area.
– Spinal Stimulator Trials: This is used as a precautionary step if you are experiencing chronic spinal pains, the relief from this varies from patient to patient. However, it is beneficial to test how your body responds to the stimulation before it is permanently implanted. This is a 5-7 day trial and is considered successful if pain improves by 50%.
– Medical Block Branches: Also called a Facet Nerve Injection, over time these nerves can become arthritic and experience pain or tension and you will feel this in your lower back. The purpose of the medical branch block is to know for sure if the pain is coming from the facet joints. They will inject a nerve block to do so, and if the pain is resolved then it shows that it was the facet joints causing it.
– SI Joint Injections: also called a sacroiliac joint block, is commonly used to treat lower back pains that are in relation to sacroiliac joint dysfunction. The purpose of this injection is to properly diagnose the problem and find the source of the injury while also attempting to reduce the pain in the process.
Dr. Hall is one of the most qualified spine surgeons in Tampa; in addition to the non-surgical procedures explained above, he also performs numerous minimally invasive surgical procedures as well.
